Dental Insurance

Dental coverage through SunLife includes preventive care at 100% and options for basic and major services. Employees and eligible dependents can choose from three plans. 

Vision Insurance

Vision coverage through SunLife includes routine eye exams and discounts on eyeglasses and contact lenses. 

AD&D Insurance

Gestalt provides a $50,000 life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) policy for all full-time employees at no cost. This benefit offers financial protection in the event of death, dismemberment or paralysis.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Additional life insurance options are available for employees, spouses and children.

Disability Coverage

Long-term disability (LTD) coverage provides 60% income replacement for full-time employees.

Supplemental Insurance

  • Colonial Life offers voluntary benefits, including short-term disability, accidental death and hospital indemnity coverage.
  • American Fidelity provides options for disability, cancer, accident, critical illness, life and 403(b) retirement plans.

Legacy Teachers
  • Staff who started teaching before July 1, 2014. 
  • Fully Vested at five (5) years of creditable service  
  • Vested members are eligible for an unreduced monthly retirement benefit at age 60 or with 30 years of creditable service. 
  • Benefits are calculated based on:
    • Creditable Service  
    • Average final compensation (AFC)  
    • Age  
    • Benefit Accrual Factor 
  • Participation in state 401K plan (Empower) is voluntary
  • Immediately vested in 401K plan 
Hybrid Teachers
  • Fully Vested at five (5) years of creditable service  
  • Vested members are eligible for an unreduced monthly retirement benefit at age 60 or with 30 years of creditable service. 
  • Benefits are calculated based on:
    • Creditable Service  
    • Average final compensation (AFC)  
    • Age  
    • Benefit Accrual Factor 
  • Participation in state 401K plan (Empower) is voluntary, but you are auto-enrolled with 2% contributions.  
  • Immediately vested in 401K plan
